A look inside our training workshop 👀
We’re currently working on the basics here. Before our trainees are allowed to work on the large machines, they need to understand, on a small scale, how a control system works.
In the picture, two of them are practising on the mounting plates. Switches, terminal blocks, fuses – all in miniature form. Each wire must be connected to the correct terminal, and every connection must be secure. If there’s a mistake, nothing will work in the end.
At EundA, we offer training in two specialisms: electronics technicians for machinery and drive technology, and for industrial engineering. Whilst these may sound similar at first, they cover everything from precision electronics to heavy-duty mechanics.
Exactly what counts later on, whether on a ship or at an industrial plant, when a fault needs to be found 💪
Those who learn here become all-rounders.

It’s BIM this week and we’ll be there both days. Friday and Saturday at the Stadthalle in Bremerhaven, with our own stand and colleagues who can tell you what the job is really like.

Here we are on a cargo ship, carrying out a thorough inspection of two auxiliary generators.
The aim is clear: to carry out scheduled maintenance before unplanned and costly breakdowns occur on the high seas.
What exactly is involved?
- Measurement & Testing: We put the generators through their paces with a thorough electrical inspection.
- Replacing wear parts: The bearings have reached their maximum operating hours and are systematically replaced by us.
- Electronics check: Diodes, varistors and the voltage regulator are checked as part of the test. This is because it is precisely these components that often cause sudden failures as a result of ageing.
Our approach to your availability: We can carry out many inspections and repairs directly on board. However, for truly thorough and intensive maintenance, we prefer to remove the units and bring them back to our workshop.
Here on this ship, we have ideal conditions:
The hatch is large enough and the transport route is ideal. This means we can completely remove the generator in a single morning – without the need for any additional, time-consuming shipyard work. This saves the shipping company valuable laytime and money.

To service or not to service? If you wait too long to have your boat serviced, you’ll end up waiting for the tugboat. ⚓
If the windlass fails whilst the ship is in operation and the vessel comes to a standstill, the clock is ticking and costs go through the roof.
That doesn’t have to be the case. We are currently making the most of the scheduled time in the dry dock and carrying out an overhaul of two electric motors for an anchor windlass.

Construction site update: The hall is up! 💥
Do you remember the foundations from the last video? A few drone flights later, the shell of the building is complete, and Eike takes you on another flight over the rooftops of Bremerhaven.
The façade is now being sealed off. After that, it’s time to move everything in, free up space in the workshop and make room for new projects. We’re stepping it up a gear and are ready for the next chapter.
